Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System (SVMH) - an integrated network of healthcare programs, services, and facilities - is centered near the heart of historic Old Town Salinas, California.

Senior Vice President of Operations Bev Ranzenberger explains, "From our beginnings in 1953, we've had an ongoing commitment to use the latest in medical technology to provide the best and most effective care for the people in our local community - we're leading edge with the technology we employ."  SVMH has always sought strategic partnerships to keep pace with changing technologies and greater economic demands.  "For imaging modalities, we've had the great fortune to be working with Alliance Imaging," Ranzenberger states.

From an initial foray into mobile MRI in the 1980s, SVMH and Alliance have grown together in the greater Salinas community, now offering MRI from a modular site (which also houses SVMH's own CT scanner) as well as an Alliance mobile PET/CT scanner that parks next door.  SVMH and Alliance have also partnered in a three-way joint venture with a Radiologist practice to offer Open MRI at another location. 

"When I came into my current position in 1993," recalls Ranzenberger, "it became clear that we would benefit from expanding our partnership with Alliance.  From the start, Alliance has given us the opportunity to grow our imaging services.  The fact that they handle all the staffing means that we don't have to worry about recruiting qualified techs, Alliance does it for us."
